"Good nurses do not make good doctors and good doctors do not
make good nurses."
I have been wondering for a while now, since I noticed this quite strong feeling, is there a possibility of me becoming a Chloe Payne [towards the end/last ep]?

You'd know that you are doing a fine job if your confused and uncooperative patient/client tells you that you look good after a quite gruesome rounds, well, just maybe. *A wink from the right, and then from the left eye.*

As I was sitting on the bleachers near the Richmond (VA) racetrack as a spectator this weekend, I thought about three possible reasons race fanatics love to watch NASCAR: (1) Of course, the roaring sound of excitement as the cars start racing as well as the nail biting kind felt as the cars fight for those top points; (2) the humor of sitting with reliable titanic earphones on while exercising the neck and eye muscles for the whole 200 laps period, trying to keep up with the speeding vehicles, and (3) (lightheartedly) the pleasure of being cooled [or rather, blown] -by the wind created by the race- for free.

Maybe we care because we are afraid of the responsibility/guilt, the kind that makes us feel bad when anything unfortunate or unbearable happened to someone because we did not do the right thing, especially when we were capable or supposed to be able to do something about it. Do we really care about the next person or simply ourselves?

It is a Different World
A dialogue between the Mercy series lead, nurse Veronica, and a client who just woke up from a 10-year comatose, Bill:
Bill: [Where are] the towers?
Nurse Veronica: There was this terrorist group that flew high jacked planes into the towers and they fell. Three thousand people died, September 11th, 2001. There has been a war going on ever since. I went there. It was… I wish I could’ve slept through that like you did. Anyway, the whole country freaked out; People were scared in a whole new way. It’s a different world.
[Life like] Change is fast and unpredictable, isn't it?

Against promise
Against peace
Against hope
Against happiness
Against all discouragement there could be."

Will rest well tonight for a 36-hour (straight) starting tomorrow. Sigh.
Oh, love Grey's Anatomy's season finale.

"Read a lot. Read everything. Read...and Harper's and Reader's Digest. Read Wired and Fast Company and Fortune. Read the Bible. The person who doesn't read has no advantage over the person who doesn't know how. Read the papers. Read history. Read poetry. Read fiction. Replenish yourself. I never knew a wise man or woman who wasn't a big reader." -- Stephen "Steve" O. Frankfurt

"When they came for the Jews, I did nothing, for I am not a Jew. When they came for the Socialists, I did nothing, for I am not a Socialist. When they came for the labor leaders, the homosexuals, the gypsies, I did nothing, for I am none of these, and when they came for me, I was alone, there was no one to stand up for me." -- Martin Niemoller, a Lutheran pastor from Nazi Germany
Know that to stand for something or someone is always better than standing for nothing at all.

Just a thought: Is the end near? Some Bible scholars and scientists believe so. Should we too?

A thought based on last night and today's dawn/early morning commute:
I think that my love for a snowy day comes from the thought that the surroundings become more calming, the falling snow is bearable, and though it is essentially freezing, you still feel warm. It is the best snowy episode (for me) so far. It is not just the typical (winter) Narnia; it is a little piece of heaven. =)
